The Banjo Clock is a wooden clock created by Simon Willard in 1802. Known as a banjo clock because of its round head and skinny throat making it the shape of a banjo. Like most clocks at the time, the banjo clock does not feature a seconds hand and therefore does not contain a constant ticking noise. The bottom of the clock often contains a painted door.
